Animals have a great impact on human lives. Zoology along with the branches like Entomology, Ethology, Helminthology, Herpetology, Ichthyology, Nematology and Ornithology etc. is important to science as it safe-guards wildlife and promotes conservation through programs like natural rehabilitation and breeding, raises awareness about endangered, at risk, and even flourishing animals, and helps create a precedence for future generations to protect what we have been entrusted with. The proposed AICZ will deal with recent advances made in all branches of zoology.

Although, the inland fisheries has grown steadily, the fish production potential from reservoirs and wetlands that are main pillars of growth is yet to be achieved. Increase in per unit water productivity is aimed from reservoirs and wetlands to bring blue revolution in inland fisheries. Along with sustainable production, enhancement, ecosystem and biodiversity conservation, futuristic policy measures, infrastructure development, appropriate governance and participatory approach will play a major role in development of the sector. The Symposium on culture-based fisheries in inland open waters will discuss recent advances made in enhancement through CBF in reservoirs and wetlands.

The fish immune system is essential in the defence against infections, as well as in maintaining good health, in all developmental stages of fish. Immunology deals with basic mechanisms of the specific and non-specific defence systems, cells, tissues, and humoral factors involved, their dependence on environmental and intrinsic factors and response to pathogens. The Satellite Symposium is aiming at the deliberation of recent advances in fish immunology.
